Former Trump White House attorney subpoenaed in DoJ Capitol riot investigation

A former White House attorney who opposed the Trump campaign’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election has received a subpoena in the Justisdepartementet’s investigation into January 6.

Eric Herschmann was subpoenaed on Monday with an order to testify before a grand jury. He previously testified under oath to the House select committee investigation January 6.

Trump’s longtime CFO expected to plead guilty, sier rapport

Donald Trump’s longtime finance chief is expected to plead guilty as soon as Thursday in a tax evasion case that is the only criminal prosecution to arise from a long-running investigation into the former president’s company, three people familiar with the matter told Associated Press.

The Trump Organization’s CFO Allen Weisselberg was scheduled to be tried in October on allegations he took more than $1.7 million in off-the-books compensation from the company, including rent, car payments and school tuition.

The AP has reported, quoting unnamed sources in the knowledge of the matter, that a hearing scheduled for 9am on Thursday was for Mr Weisselberg to enter a guilty plea, but cautioned that plea deals sometimes fall apart before they are finalised in court.

Mr Weisselberg’s lawyer, Nicholas Gravante Jr, fortalte New York Times on Monday that he has been engaged in plea negotiations to resolve the case, but did not specify terms of a potential plea deal.

Ms Halligan was questioned by Sean Hannity on what other items “besides the passport” were taken during the raid ‘that should never have been taken”, to which she said the FBI did not say “where the documents were located or what specifically was taken.”

“We’ve asked multiple times for a real inventory description of what was taken, but the inventory list they gave us is borderline worthless," hun sa.

“But we have real concerns in terms of whether they were right to take certain things. The Department of Justice is not communicating with us as to what the evidence is and what their intentions are, but we will continue to try to get to the bottom of it.”
